The Local Wildlife

Thankfully the title of this post is not a reference to big Helga at number 47 although by all accounts it could be!  No, this is, rather, a random collection of shots of some of the birdlife of our local lake taken earlier today.  There is a notable upsurge in the number of birds to be found and the intensity of their activity as spring arrives so hopefully this will be a good year for us all…

Tufties
A fair number of Tufted Ducks are now inhabiting the local lake and stream.
Coot
A Coot was to be found cruising along near the edge of the lake.
Wigeon
A pair of Wigeon were feeding further round the lake.
Mallards
This pair of Mallards make a lovely couple.

    1. Thank you. The light was pretty awful and some cropping had to be done (lack of lenses) so they’re not too bad. Thanks for dropping by 😀
